Aims

The purpose of the International Council of Tanners (hereinafter referred to as the "ICT") is to promote the interests of the leather industry internationally, and in particular:

a. to provide for an interchange of views amongst members (i.e. national associations of leather producers in membership with the ICT) on matters affecting the leather industry;

b. to ascertain the solution to problems of mutual interest and to transmit these solutions to members, to whom shall be entrusted their application in accordance with the possibilities and circumstances in each country;

c. to liaise with other organisations associated with the leather and allied industries and, where appropriate, with international organisations of a wider scope;

d. to exchange statistical and other information;

e. to undertake, or commission, reviews and research on matters pertaining to the industry and to disseminate the results to members and, where appropriate, more widely;

f. to assist members in negotiations with Regulatory Agencies on a national, regional, or global basis as called for, using any appropriate means;

g. to engage in any other activity which is to the advantage of members.
